If you visit the Main Library to use a public computer, you'll notice some changes in the way we administer signups. We're using a software program to manage the waiting lists now (similar to the one used at the Arlington and Irving libraries). The main difference for you? You'll be able to follow the waiting list's progress on a monitor visible from the magazine section. When your "guest number" moves from the waiting list to the assigned computers list, you'll see which PC has been assigned to you. We won't be calling people's names out loud, and we won't be coming to tell you when your time is up. We're still learning the new system as well, but we expect things to move more smoothly as we all get used to it.
