Author Karen Blumenthal will appear at the Grand Prairie Main Library, 901 Conover Drive, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, to speak about her books and writing experiences.

The Dallas resident is the author of three financial books for adults and five nonfiction titles for younger readers. Blumenthal starting writing for a younger audience after becoming frustrated with the nonfiction available to her daughters. She will be talking about her writing career, focusing specifically on her books Bootleg: Murder, Moonshine, and the Lawless Years of Prohibition; and Steve Jobs: the Man Who Thought Different.
