Childrens' programs at the Libraries:

The next storytime at the Main Library will be Tuesday, October 25th.

The next storytime at the Warmack Branch will be on Wednesday, October 26.

"The World of World Book" uses our new World Book Encyclopedia to show kids in grades 3 & 4 how to research facts for fun or homework. Wednesday, October 19 at 5 pm. Main Library.

Drop by the Main Library for a family afternoon of spooky crafts. “Halloween Crafts” will be Sunday, October 30th, at 3pm. Open to children ages 12 and under.

Crafternoon at the Bowles Library will be at 7 pm on Monday, October 31.

Bowles presents a Teen Movie on Tuesday, June 21 at 6:30 pm. The Rifftrax crew gently mocks Indiana Jones. Ask Miz Christie about Riff trax! The ark is lost! Who will raid it?! All libraries are offering a great program on Monday, December 13.

Choose from:
Catch the Gingerbread Man! Revisit the classic tale of the Gingerbread Man before beginning a search for him in the library. Using clues left behind, we will learn about different areas of the library that the Gingerbread Man likes to visit. A brief film and craft will conclude the program. Main Library, 7 pm.

Family Movie Night! They're cute and fluffy, but don't feed them after midnight! Bowles Branch, 6:30 pm.

Creative Writing Workshop Join us from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 13 at the Bowles Branch Library.

Presenter Don Smarto helps you rev up your imagination and express yourself in words. Don has presented his creative writing seminar to youth in over twenty Texas schools. During the past thirty years, Don has written nine well read books and numerous articles for national magazines. He developed this presentation over a three year period. His dynamic presentation exposes students to great poetry and gives them an opportunity to develop creative writing skills. Don is a Grand Prairie resident. Refreshments served.

The Bowles Branch starts Teen After Hours today: Wednesday, February 13, 7—9 p.m.
Crash the library after closing with computer time, crafts, food, and a movie presentation of Romeo & Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Open to the first 12 teens ( 12—18 years) that register starting February 11; sign-up at the library and check in on Wednesday to receive your pass for admission. 972-237-7540

Storytime is coming back! Storytimes have been on a break during August, and will start again after Labor Day.

Main Library: Regular storytimes are Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 am. Baby storytime is each Thursday at 11 am.

Warmack Library: Storytimes are Wednesdays at 10 am and again at 10:45. (To accomodate all of our guests, please just choose one session. It is the same one repeated.)

Bowles Branch: Storytimes are at 10:30 am, and 4:30 pm for school-aged children.

Everyone's waiting for the new Harry Potter book - are you? When you just can't bear the wait any longer, head to the Library for some Hogwarts fun!

Main Library: Join us for a Harry Potter Countdown Party! From 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday, July 20, we'll have games and activities for school-aged children in the Children's Area.

Bowles Branch Library: Celebrate The Boy Who Lived at the Bowles Library’s Harry Potter Release Party, Saturday, July 21 at 2 pm. We’ll have great activities and fun!
